          Description

Chakrasamvara is considered to be the principal meditational deity of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Typically depicted as a twelve-armed blue figure, Chakrasamvara holds his consort Vajrayogini in a divine embrace-the ultimate metaphor for non-duality. He extends compassion through fierce and wrathful means, unequivocally trampling the kleshas, or afflictions. The five Dhyani Buddhas are represented along the top of the thangka to protect this most precious visualization of anuttara yoga tantra.

          2'11'W (top), 3'7'W (bottom) x 4'8.5'H. Art: 21.5'x 28'.
