          Taking an abstract approach, this artistic rendition seeks to capture the essence of the revered Tibetan conch shell, symbolising inner peace and spiritual purification. 

          Revered for its ability to cleanse environments when blown, the conch shell holds a significant place among the Eight Auspicious Symbols in Buddhism. It embodies the widespread dissemination of the Buddha's teachings, resonating in all directions like the sound of its trumpet. Fearlessly proclaiming the truths of the dharma, it stands as a symbol of enlightenment and spiritual guidance.

           

          About the Artist - A. Sikander

          Originally from a small village near Udaipur in the culturally rich region of Rajasthan, India, A. Sikander is a sculptor and member of the Mystik River collective. Working primarily in black and white marble, Sikander explores themes of spirituality and human connection through abstract, modern forms. His practice bridges traditional materials with a contemporary aesthetic, offering a quiet departure from classical Indic styles.

          His works—such as Infinity Sphere and Mother & Child—reflect a meditative approach to form, inviting viewers to pause and engage with the subtle balance between material and meaning. Rooted in simplicity yet layered with intention, Sikander’s sculptures add a contemplative dimension to the Mystik River collection, broadening its dialogue between tradition and modernity.
