Known as 'dragon’s blood', the dark red gum resin from the Dracaena genus of succulent shrubs was used by Ancient Greeks, Romans and Arabs for its medicinal properties: a kind of 'cure all'. Dragon tree resin, is thought to have been responsible for the intense color of Stradivarius violins. This resin has long been used by natives in south- east Asia for clearing negative energy, and to instill confidence and courage.
