Ibn Battuta in the Valley of Doom

Having failed to reach Mecca from Egypt, Ibn Battuta finally arrives in Damascus from where he sets off with the pilgrims caravan. On the way however, the caravan has to cross the dreaded Valley of Doom where, it is said, a fierce wind blows directly from hell!
