Classic Japanese-style chest will serve a variety of functions. Not only is it perfectly sized as a nightstand next to our Tatami Platform Bed (#F155), it can also serve as a home altar with a large surface for devotional statues, candles, and other offerings. Try it at the end of your bed, or place two tansu back-to-back to create a large coffee table with storage on both sides. A very practical piece of furniture, two (even three!) tansu may be stacked to create a bureau. Deep, spacious drawers slide easily, and store blankets, linens, and other large textiles.
