Artist K. Ravi specialises in woodwork and artistically carved interior decorative furniture. Translating into English, nartaki means dancing lady. The dancer is presented in a seductive pose, while performing a dance. Her voluptuous, feminine forms have been ideally carved by the artist, to further highlight the divide beauty of female body. She is ideal. Capturing our eyes, it seems as if she is the dancer is about to come alive and begin her performance in front of the audience. Surrounded by animals and mystical creatures, this work reveals a beautiful harmony  of human and nature.

Female figures, play a pivotal role in ancient Indian sculpture.  Such figures are often found decorating gates, panels and murals of ancient Indian temples. Female sculptures pay tribute to the physical and divine beauty of women, their feminine energy and sensuality. In India, images of women are symbolic of fertility and abundance of life.
