Reclining Tara Garden Statue

Our new Reclining Tara Garden Statue will help create a safe space for meditation and mindfulness. Tara suggests that perhaps we can step back and relax on our journey. When we are kind to ourselves, we become more kind to others too.

Within Tibetan Buddhism, Bodhisattva Tārā is regarded as a bodhisattva of compassion and action - like goddess Quan Yin. She is the female aspect of Avalokiteśvara and, in some origin stories, she comes from his tears. When he cried in despair at not being able to honor his promise to save all beings, Tara sprang from his tears to help him. Goddess Tara resolved to save all beings as well as to become enlightened herself.
